Pastor Rob with his wife, Dawna, have been serving at Mt. Rose since 1978. They are both native Nevadans with Dawna being born in Reno and Rob in Fallon. He and Dawna were married in 1975 and their family continues to grow with three daughters, Deana, Danae, and Daelynn; two sons-in-law, Simon and Joey; and two grandsons, Ethan and Andrew. He graduated from Eastfield College with an Associates in Arts and Sciences and Dallas Bible College in 1978 with a Bachelor of Theology degree. In 1981 he was ordained in the Evangelical Free Church of America and in 1997 Pastor Rob earned his Masters in Philosophy at the University of Nevada in Reno.
The Lord changed Pastor Rob’s life in 1972 during his Freshman year at U.N.R. when he realized his life was going nowhere fast due to drugs and alcohol. Two years later in 1974 he moved to Dallas, Texas and began Bible College. At the time all he was sure of was his hunger to learn God’s word and to trust the Lord with his future. By his Junior year he began to sense a leading toward the pastorate.
His passion is to be a student of God’s word so, like the Apostle Paul, he might “know Him [Christ] and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death…” (Philippians 3:10). His prayer since he was first saved has also been asking the Lord to make the following words by the Prophet Jeremiah true in his life: “Thy words were found and I ate them, and Thy words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; for I have been called by Thy name O Lord God of hosts” (Jeremiah 15:16).

Hi Rob and Dawna,
I hope this finds you doing well. I enjoyed perusing your website.
I retired early from my job at the engineering firm in January ‘08. I will be graduating with my MA in Spiritual Formation at the end of April.
I have founded a little non-profit called “Soul Care Resources” – I am active in ministry @ my church as well. I have spent quite a bit of time (7 visits) in Kazakhstan over the last 3-1/2 years and lived in Kazakhstan this last summer. I will be returning (for a shorter stint) again in June.
My mom had a severe stroke early in ‘08 – I endeavor to visit her (and give my dad a break) for at least several days each month. If my time weren’t so spoken for, I would love to see you and pay a visit to the church.
I trust you are finding continual encouragement in living the Life. I would love to know how you are!
Christ in me, the hope of glory,
Lu
